Job Summary:

The Grant Writer & Incentive Research Manager identifies promising grant opportunities for non-profits, municipalities, and small and medium-sized companies and assists with application submission. They prepare Engineered Incentive Reports, deliver written engagement proposals, files applications to obtain funding, monitors proposals through award of funds and provides reports to the Chief Operating Officer. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience writing and submitting successful grant proposals, with proficiency in competitive corporate, foundation, federal, state granting and local levels.

Job Responsibilities:

The Grant Writer & Incentive Research Manager will be responsible for identifying and providing recommendations for appropriate contracting and grant funding opportunities. They will develop successful applications on behalf of client to secure funding for their business and project needs. The Grant Writer & Researcher Manager will build and maintain relationships with our clients, discussing applicable grant opportunities, setting customer expectations, identifying and communicating needs, ensuring customer satisfaction, resolving issues or concerns, and contributing to marketing strategies to grow the customer base.

Success Measurements: • Produce timely and high-quality funding opportunities to clients • Applications submitted and funded in a timely manner and demonstrated customer appreciation • Client retention measured by repeat clients and/or client satisfaction surveys • Produce consistent high quality grant funding applications that meet and support the program’s growth objectives and meet sponsor guidelines.

Essential Duties:

• Provide feedback on client project readiness and their suitability to work with the company on seeking grant funds

• Research potential funding opportunities for clients and provide in professional manner to clients and division

• Communicate with client to gather information specific to funding applications

• Produce high quality and competitive written grant proposals

• Interface directly with clients, funding sources, and other potential stakeholders

• Coordinate between multiple stakeholders involved in the writing, submission and funding process

• Manage timelines and project milestones for grant submissions.

• Participates in conversations on the strategic growth of the grant services division

• Provides feedback on company processes as the division grows

• Interface with peer grant writers both internal to the company and independent contractors

• Help build awareness of grant services

• Contribute to newsletters, web site, or other promotional brochures

• Remain up to date on best and current practices regarding grant seeking and proposal development, including participation in professional development and educational activities and providing feedback on acquiring relevant and updated tools for grant seeking and proposal development

• Generate incoming incentive report requests using Subcity, template slides, web and other resources

• Research incentive eligibility, requirements, next steps, value proposition, time commitment and other relevant factors

• Maintain the incentive database and template slides with up-to-date information, links, etc and adding new relevant incentives

• Collaborate with COO, SDs, and admins on any incentive report related needs/indirect EIR sales/ongoing projects.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Proficient in discussing, preparing and submitting federal and state grant applications.

• Ability to handle multiple grant applications and clients.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and abilities.

• Ability to review funding opportunities to determine a match with the client’s projects.

• Ability to communicate with the contact party listed in the funding opportunity to address any questions or concerns regarding project compatibility.

• High end customer service skills with internal and external stakeholders.

• Highly organized and exceedingly detail orientated.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Working knowledge of the grants field. Strong writing and problem-solving capability. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision required. Interpersonal and soft skills that motivate trust, teamwork and transparency.

EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATION:

Five (5) years related experience in researching and preparing grants.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and explore alternatives for appeals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external stakeholders in a compelling manner that achieves desired results.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No employee supervisory relationships, coordinates the efforts with external Independent Contractors.
